Episode 26: Howard Murray

It's a busy episode, this one. It's a great interview with Chris's father-in-law Howard, who had his first professional gig as a jazz saxophonist on New Year's Eve 1959. We talk about the appearance and subsequent domination of rock & roll over traditional jazz, performing across Europe, and his love of the jazz and blues clubs of New Orleans.

Sadly, Howard passed away on New Year’s Eve 2021, 63 years to the day since his first ever gig, and 21 years since the first time Chris played a gig with him. He’ll be sorely missed, but we’re so pleased we had a chance to sit down with this lovely man and hear some of his tales. Go well, Howard.
